Gunnar Asplund was born in 1885 in Stockholm. Asplund is considered one of the most significant architects in Swedish history, and his legacy lives on through his groundbreaking works such as Skogskyrkogården and Stockholm Public Library.
In 1988, Källemo began manufacturing the GA-1 chair and the GA-2 armchair, which Asplund designed for the Svenska Slöjdföreningen (Svensk Form) boardroom on Nybrogatan in Stockholm in 1931.
